u.s. bondage

you must understand, it is more than the chains i have taken from around my neck that keep me from slavery. i am a lampshade on a drunkard’s head. something so trite and predictable that it is sincere. i am the velvet elvis above the rosaries and crosses and roadmaps. i am a midget with a lobster claw in a trailer park not cool enough for clearwater. arbus in amber and somber and sober i see the lights and the devil go down on georgia.
